I couldn't pick just one...and I could've posted all 33!

They are Done!

Wow, what a blessing to know so many people that you want to share your children's pictures with and that you want to invite to their parties. So the last I'd say 2 weeks I have been working on #2's "Save the date" cards for his birthday party in December and sending out his 2 week, 3 month, and 6 month pictures. It has been a lot of work, I had to order MORE pictures because I ran out and then pick & choose who got 2 wk, 3 month, & 6 month pictures-everyone got a 6 month picture. I am just so glad it is done and sent out! So here is a little sample:

This one has a flap:

This is what it says on the inside:They are all different and unique. The paper is "antiqued" so it makes it even better I think. Of course there are some that I wasn't 100% thrilled with but after making over 50 by hand during nap times I didn't have time to be too picky. I had to do a "Save the date" card because his birthday is in one of the most busy months of the year, I would even be willing to say the busiest month of the year, I don't want any excuses! :) The venue is booked and I am ready!

I also put together over 25 "Welcome Back" bags for our staff at school. I couldn't go all out like I wanted I had to improvise and I don't think they are too shabby. I wrote RSCA and everyone's names on the cups and put stickers, gum, chocolate, peppermints, pen, a card, & personalized mini notebook. It isn't much, but it is what I could do with a staff that has grown so much! Three of the cups aren't the way I wanted but I didn't have room for error. The "Welcome Back" bags took a few weeks to put together.

The AC unit is officially gone as of tomorrow morning...long, long story, I am just glad it is done.

#2 STOOD on his own two times today. THIS is some exciting stuff, he isn't even 8 months old! He let go of the coffee table and stood there for a few seconds and then I was lying on the floor and he was half bent over straightened himself out and then stood right up, I was all kinds of amazed. These are big moments.

Pictures

Today we went to the park:

This is how fat kids cool down after being at the park on a hot day:

Just #1 being cute & jealous:

When we pulled up from the park today, I saw this from the car I had to get out and snap a picture with my camera phone. The bottom of the duck wasn't in the water but it says HOT. I was like no kidding it is hot! But then I got a good laugh at the "girl" duck giving the "hot fireman duck" googly eyes, so then HOT took on a whole new image.

*all the pictures were from my camera phone..that is why a few aren't the best!

Quotes for the Day

Everyday #1 says something that either makes me laugh or floors me. He is currently in Science Camp and on Tuesday they did something fun & exciting, the teacher was on the phone as we were leaving so she didn't get to tell me. #1 said, "Ms. Kathi let me put marbles down the sink." I said, "Ms. Kathi let you put marbles down the sink?" #1 said, "It was FUN mom!" On the rest of the drive home I am fully anticipating a phone call from Ms. Kathi informing I owe a plumber a lot of money. So Wednesday when I drop him off I said, "Did you let #1 put marbles down the sink yesterday? He said you let him." She said, "Goodness no! We are doing science experiments this week." I said, "I know that is why we put him in science camp." (with a smile not at all hateful) and she said, "Yesterday I pulled each child to go over what would float and what would sink, and marbles sink." I said, "That makes so much sense!" I was so relieved to know we wouldn't have to pay the plumber's bill.

So today as we were pulling in our driveway from checking a friend's mail he said, "Mommy, aren't you going to check the black mail?" I died laughing at this, because our mailbox is black he doesn't know what blackmail is, but it sure was funny! He followed this statement with, "I love A so much." (his little friend) I wondered if he was blackmailing his little friend. HA!!

My friend overheard an elderly couple at her work have this conversation: "You know I am not perfect, but I am perfect for you." and he said, "I know you are perfect for me and I am not perfect either but I am perfect for you." We thought that was sweet.

One last thing, #2 can't talk but tonight as he should've been sleeping I slipped in to see what he was doing and where his pacifier was (because he was "talking") and he looks at me and just smiles and smiles and giggles with that pacifier in his mouth, which makes me think, don't smile at me you little cute thing because you should be asleep! He is TOO cute and will be charming some woman in the future. Right after that #1 pops out (I swear they have cameras because if one is awake the other one is too, when one gets up so does the other one) and so sweetly looks at me and says, "I love you mommy." and I think you cute little booger get back in bed. Two cute kids can make a rough afternoon a sweet one!

I Gave In

With the thought of getting dressed every morning for work quickly approaching I had to give in, I can't cry every morning when it is time to get ready for work after my 5 outfits that fit are dirty, so I went shopping. I did CHEAP shopping because really with all the doctor's visits and stuff I don't plan on being in these clothes too much longer. My mom purchased a few things for me, wasn't that nice? I hit up a good sale at a store called Peebles, never heard of it before but they carry some good name brands...but you have to be careful because there is some older people stuff there too! That was Saturday, then Monday I went to Goodwill, yes Goodwill, I walked out of there with 3 pairs of pants & 6 shirts for $38. How many places can you get new looking clothes for those kind of prices? I don't know many! Then I went to GAP on the endless search for khakis which apparently no one wears anymore, but GAP and a few tucked away in the corner and I found two cute pair for the price of one. I spent $42 on two pairs of pants, now when coming down off a I did good shopping high from Goodwill I felt ripped off! :) But I love some GAP so it was worth it.

At Goodwill they had a G-R-E-A-T pair of Banana Republic pink & brown pants (pinstriped) and they fit perfectly, I was so happy, until I went to take them off. When I took them off I noticed the lining was torn, badly, there is no fixing lining and it looking good so I sadly hung them on the "no" hook. To make this matter a happy one I did notice a small hole on the knee as I was putting on another pair of pants on and if the lining hadn't been torn I would've never noticed and I would've been bummed when I got home when I would have notice-so really it was a good thing that the lining was torn!

Now...shoes I must find some shoes. I hate shopping for shoes, but it must be done!

Into The Wild

We rented Into The Wild the other night and well I was disappointed. I thought that this movie would be a great movie, nature, adventure, someone doing it all without a ton of money. Let me describe our movie experience:

Laying on the bed started movie at 9:00 p.m. (and for two old people with kids who don't believe in sleep this is a late start)

10:05 time check
10:15 it has only been 15 minutes
10:25 really, this is the longest movie ever!!

You get the idea, needless to say I wasn't a fan of the movie.

It's Friday

When is the last time you vacuumed your stove? I vacuumed mine tonight! Actually this is the very first time I have vacuumed my stove, but when you are cooking dinner and spill the oatmeal you have to get it up very quickly, so I sucked it right up! Tonight's dinner was a very fun combination of breakfast items. We had some left over yeast rolls from a yummy protein packed dinner last night (yeast rolls have 2 per roll) and I wanted to use them up, so I made a french toast bake. YUM! Nick only saw the fruit on the table and the oatmeal cooking and he said, "Fruit and oatmeal for dinner? Seriously?" and I said, "If you you don't like what I make for dinner you can make something else, it won't hurt my feelings at all." Then I said, "There is something else in the oven, I had to make something "good" to balance out the meal." So I served dinner and he was like, "What is that?" I said, "Just try it!" and then the next thing said was this, "That is really good! This tastes like cinnamon rolls, what is it?" Then a little later, "That was a good dinner babe!" Never doubt the master...well the master in this house anyway. Yeah, it was an unusual dinner but I have been wanting to try to make a french toast bake and I had rolls that needed to be used so I went for it!

The doctor ordered some blood tests today and I got the results (gotta love Kaiser) but not one covered my thyroid-cholesterol= good; blood counts= good; blood sugar= good; everything else except weight and mood swings=good. So I am not sure if they actually tested my thyroid like she said or if it just hasn't posted yet. Will let you know more when I do. In the mean time, my wonderful sister has agreed to start training for a 15K with me...that is over 9 miles folks, but I am going to do it. Training with no excuses starts Sunday, maybe Monday. The race is in November...I am a little excited.

Saying Good Bye to "The Boys"

Tomorrow is the day, we have the appointment I will most likely be driving to and from the appointment but "the boys" will be gone sometime after noon tomorrow. Who are "the boys"? That would be Nick's boys, his sperm friends are no longer welcome in our relationship, so they will be put to a stop so to speak. Nick is going for his vasectomy tomorrow so we will have no more baby worries. I jokingly told him that it took so long with the first two to get pregnant that he shouldn't worry, it actually takes work for us to get pregnant. :) But he is paranoid so we are making the call to fix it permanently so I am not on birth control the rest of my life. We are done having kids and don't want any surprises. I know he is nervous but recovery shouldn't take too long.

I have an appointment on Friday at 11 a.m. to see what in the world is going on with my body, if anything at all. I think my body just got used to having extra weight after being pregnant two times in two years. Part of me wants to know that yes there is something wrong so I won't feel like such a failure at something I have REALLY been trying to accomplish, but then the other part of me wants to know that nothing is wrong and I just need to digest some fat burners and push for 800 calories at the gym instead of the 650 to 700 I have been burning 4 to 5 days a week. But the fact that my hair is falling out in mass quantities isn't a good sign...we shall see.

That was a long time...

So being gone for a week turned out to be gone for a week, home for a few days, gone again.

Week 1: Had a fun time with the girls, didn't take my camera because the husband had some painting to do and we needed to take a picture of the mural for the people that used to live here. I need to get that picture developed and send it on its way! Rhino's room looks good, now I need to get new curtains and decorations!

Week 2: Not nearly as much fun, but it was worth it. I have a friend who had her uterus removed and her bladder tacked so she needed a little extra help, especially since her husband decided to be a jerk and skip out on his husband duties...he also is in the process of deciding if he wants to leave or not. Good timing there buddy! So when I was talking to her on Wednesday and she was all alone with two small children I immediately started packing to go and we were there by 1:00. She had surgery on Monday, much too early to be alone so 10 loads of laundry & a clean house later we came home. But it was good because the boys got to see my grandma one last time before she left to go back home, we had a brief visit on Monday. (my mom lives about 10 minutes away from my friend's new house) I have spent a lot of money in gas!

This week I have been spending a lot of time in prayer being thankful, thankful for being healthy (except the weight stuff) and having for the most part healthy kids, and most of all a pretty good husband.

Weight loss: none...going to the doctor this week to request physical and blood work...something has to be wrong-it has been 5 months of trying 3 months of REALLY TRULY trying and nothing.
And now...some pictures:
